M12: Resilient and Ready: Libraries Stepping Up to Support Access to Justice

Log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Many libraries are stepping up to fill service gaps left by shuttered governmental services, and they are doing it without additional support. While challenging, this presents new opportunities. LawMatters and LSS  are committed to working with public libraries to rise to this challenge and work towards increasing access to justice in BC. In this workshop style session we will arm you with useful tools to help your patrons navigate the confusing landscape of legal issues. Using real life examples we will show you free, plain language and trustworthy legal information resources on a range of topics including wills and estates, family and criminal law. Afterwards, you will be able to apply your knowledge and hone your legal reference skills with a series of practice case scenarios.

Presented with support from Irving K. Barber Learning Centre.
